The IGS at the “Ausseer Gespräche 2019: Resonances – Recurring Themes in Science and Art”
In collaboration with the Institute for Old Testament Studies at the University of Graz, the International Graduate School “Resonant Global Relations in Socio-Religious Practices in Antiquity and the Present” is organising this year’s Aussee Talks. This annual event aims to bring scholarship and the arts to society and thereby provide new impetus. During these interdisciplinary discussions, participants are offered the opportunity to engage in informal discussions and enjoy the cultural landscape of the Salzkammergut. This year’s theme is aligned with the IGS’s research concept, thus offering the opportunity to present the research group’s fundamental idea—based on Hartmut Rosa’s theory—as well as the doctoral students’ research projects in Erfurt and Graz, which build upon this concept, to a broad international audience. During a panel discussion, the research assistants and scholarship holders will discuss the concept of ‘home’ against the backdrop of resonance theory. The keynote speakers at this year’s Ausseer Gespräche are Hartmut Rosa, Gunter Scholtz and Ulrich von Bülow. A concert-talk entitled ‘Music as Resonance’ on Saturday evening, featuring Andreas Dorschel and the pianists Olga Chepovetsky, Johannes Gugg and Yuka Inoue, rounds off the programme.
